As a manufacturer we pride ourselves in not only supplying the right product for the job but also in ensuring that the correct methods of application are used before, during and after welding. Remember, If you are lucky enough to own a Ferrari, but put the wrong petrol in it, you can be sure it will not perform to its optimum.

1. Furnace Repairs - With working temperatures often as high as 1400°C parts are prone to cracking. Using specialised Inconel Hastalloy and stainless steel electrodes such as Mac Nicro E213/E215 and Mac Stain E102, these parts can easily be repaired leaving them better prepared to withstand such elevated temperatures.

2. Shot Peen Cabinets - Most are of a manganese steel or nihard type material. With the correct electrode, such as our Mac Trode E6130 and employing the correct repair procedures large cost savings to applications such as plates, screw heads and carrying jigs can easily be achieved.

3. Sand Reclamation Plants - Sand is extremely abrasive causing endless wear problems. Using one of 3 different types of welding processes: (i)Arc welding, (ii)Gas welding, (iii)Powder welding. most wear problems can be combated, with certain applications experiencing an increase of life by as much as 300%.

4. Rail and Trackworks - These are usually made from manganese steel and are mostly subject to abrasion. Therefore using an electrode of similar composition such as our Mac Trode E6130, which also work hardens, will maximise the benefits possible.

5. Shake-out Beds - The constant vibration of the beds causes fatigue and eventually parts begin to crack. Normal welding electrodes are also unable to withstand the vibration. By using specialised welding procedures and electrodes with high tensile strength and elongation this problem can be overcome, allowing the parts to be repaired without the fear of cracking.

6. Shafts - By using either arc welding or powder welding these universal wear problems can easily be solved at large cost savings to your company rather than contracting out.

7. Gears and Sprockets - Teeth are often worn or stripped through machine jams. Whether they are cast steel or cast iron, using the correct pre-heat and post heat treatment easy repairs can be made, minimising down-time.

8. Heat Treatment Trays - As well as elevated temperatures these trays are also subject to constant thermal cycling. While welding can produce perfectly acceptable results, unless high nickel alloys are used weld failure is the likely outcome.

9. Pattern Repairs - When using powder welding there is very little heat involved, therefore minimising the possibility of distortion. Deposits can be accurate to less than 1mm in depth, reducing machining time and ultimately the time to repair the pattern.

10. Casting Reclamation - Castings often contain foundry defects, which can be easily repaired using either arc welding or gas welding. By using the correct pre-heat and post heat, in conjunction with an electrode or wire of the same or similar alloy, the possibility of cracking is almost completely eliminated. Both machinability and colour matching are also overcome without any difficulty.
